We set a high value on keeping our ecological footprint small. We use rainwater and solar power, and due to the good accessibility of Sarteneja by water cab and bus you can easily live here without owning a car. Renting is often more convenient and cheaper than owning.

A bicycle is the ideal means of transportation. Distances are short and the land is flat. The sea has a magical attraction and can be enjoyed perfectly by canoe, SUP, surfboard or sailboat.

Guides are available for excursions to fully concentrate on nature. Self-drivers can of course also rent a car.

The hacienda is farmed without chemicals and grazed with sheep. This avoids the use of tractors and machinery and is beneficial to biodiversity. Numerous birds and mammals use the extensively used areas and the falling fruits of the trees are enjoyed as a delicacy.

Those who want to live here should be able to live autonomously. Solar energy and/or wind power provide electricity, there is enough rain water or own spring water and the soil is fertile. Of course there are stores, restaurants and we have internet and telephone.

We are convinced that in the future it will be more and more important to use resources intelligently. This way we and our children will be able to live comfortably in the future.

Sarteneja and the Hacienda should be interesting for tourists, winter-birds, emigrants, investors and residents alike.
